Acajulta recieves CEPA certification.

US Ambassador H. Douglas Barclay participated last June 29 in a ceremony for the AMP certification of Acajulta Port.

In this ceremony, the Salvadoran Maritime Dock Authority gave the Excutive Dock Comision a certification that Acajutla Port complies with improvements in security issues acorrding International Standards.

This is part oa an international effort to implement a world wide security standrard on ships and ports to prevent terrorist attacks and the use of vessels as weapons. The next step is the evaluation to be performend by the US COast Guard.

Besides the Ambassador, the event was attended by Acting Salvadoran President, Ana Vilma de Escobar, the Vice Minister of Transportation, Rogelio Juan Tobar Garcia, CEPA's President, Miguel Ángel Salaverria, and AMP's president, Carlos Borja.
