Itinerant Library visits Yucuaiquin, La Union

On August 21, representatives of the U.S. Embassy and Centro Cultural Salvadoreño Americano traveled to the town of Yucuaiquín, Department of La Union, to inaugurate the Itinerant Library.
This traveling library, which contains many encyclopedias, biographies, atlases, works of literature and children’s books, will remain for an entire month in CONCULTURA’s cultural house (Casa de Cultura), where it will be available to students from the local schools as well as to the general public.
The opening event was attended by the local director of National Civil Police (PNC), directors of the local public schools, and members of the U.S. Peace Corps.
After a month in Yucuaiquín, the Itinerant Library will continue visiting other towns in the region, helping to promote reading as well as American Culture.
