Ambassador Glazer honored by CNSP
Dozens of children from at risk communities waved Salvadoran and US flags while shouting with enthusiasm: “Welcome Mr. Ambassador.” This happened on Friday, December 19, as Ambassador Charles L. Glazer entered the National Public Security Council building. There, its President Oscar Bonilla presented a plaque and publicly thanked Ambassador Glazer for the support he has given to public security initiatives in El Salvador during his two years as US Ambassador.
“The children who welcomed you are kept away from gangs thanks to our programs which you support and help fund,” Bonilla said.
During the brief but heartfelt ceremony, Bonilla expressed appreciation for many of the current public security cooperation programs, such as the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA), and the Transnational Anti Gang Unit. Ambassador Charles L. Glazer has said repeatedly that the number one priority of the US Embassy in El Salvador is to help Salvadorans solve the violent crime problem.
