The U.S. Embassy, through the Public Affairs Office, sponsored an educational exhibit at the Children’s Tin Marin Museum in San Salvador entitled “En Tren por El Salvador”.

This new exhibit is the first at the museum to display information in English as well as Spanish.  The attraction has a locomotive and a wagon brought from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Visitors who board the train will have the opportunity “to travel” through the different departments of El Salvador and learn about their culture, history and landmarks.  In addition, children will find out about Philadelphia and its importance in the history of the United States.

The Public Affairs Office at the U.S. Embassy supported the exhibit with the purchase and installation of the audio and video equipment, the design and production of the documentary “En Tren por El Salvador”, and printing of educational labels both in Spanish and English. This is a cooperative effort between the US and the Autonomous Port Executive Commission of El Salvador, CEPA.
