Important Bilateral Issues Discussed in Radio Interview
Charge d’Affaires Robert Blau participated in “Quién tiene la palabra” interview at YSUCA, the radio station from the Universidad Centroamericana Jose Simeon Cañas (UCA).
In the one-hour interview, Charge Blau discussed with the program’s two hosts the expectations created by the new administration of President Barack Obama and its implications in the region.
The diplomat highlighted that during his inauguration speech, President Obama said that the US is willing to reach out to ‘those governments that cling to power through corruption and deceit’ as long as they are willing to ‘unclench their fists.’
The program also included opinions from the director of the Human Rights Institute of the UCA, Gilma Pérez, Economics professor Roberto Góchez Sevilla, and UCA professor Rudy Reserve.
UCA was founded in 1965. It is considered to be one of the most important centers of higher education in El Salvador.
