Ronald McDonald greets the patients.

On September 9, Charge d’Affaires Robert Blau, acting Deputy Chief of Mission Michael McGee, Public Affairs Officer Marti Estell, and acting United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Director Carl Derrick visited the town of San Martin to witness the work of Ronald McDonald’s Foundation mobile clinic. The clinic is providing free medical care to the San Martin population for a week.

The Embassy is interested in observing and supporting the social responsibility programs carried out by U.S. corporations in El Salvador.

From 2007 to 2009, USAID’s Alliance Program provided the Ronald McDonald Foundation with technical assistance to establish sustainable partnerships to take medical care and preventive health education to 80,000 people in 90 of the poorest municipalities in El Salvador. USAID support amounts $160,011.
