On November 11 the first plane with disaster relief cargo from the United States arrived in El Salvador to assist in the current emergency caused by Hurricane Ida. It carried water jugs, six thousand personal disaster hygiene kits, and rolls of plastic sheeting. Its more than 60 tons of cargo amount almost $140,000. The cost of the flight was $60,000.

This donation comes after the first $100,000 in immediate disaster assistance provided by the U.S. Government through the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).
 
Five Southern Command helicopters also arrived in El Salvador to assist in the emergency and reconstruction efforts.
