Assistant Secretary of State José Fernandez Comes to El Salvador

Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy and Business Affairs, Jose Fernandez made a stop in El Salvador as part of a familiarization trip which included Panama.  During his visit, he met with President Mauricio Funes, members of the Salvadoran Cabinet, and members of the business community among others.  In his meetings, Assistant Secretary Fernandez discussed issues of bilateral interest that included the free trade, among others.

Assistant Secretary Fernandez, Charge d’Affaires Robert I. Blau, and Salvadoran Minister of Economy Hector Dada Hirezi paid a visit to “La Canasta”, a business that had benefitted from the Central American and Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement or CAFTA.  On March 1st, CAFTA will celebrate its fourth anniversary of implementation.
