On March 27, Under Secretary of State Maria Otero joined Salvadoran Minister of Security David Munguía Payés in a donation ceremony for 47 new pick-up trucks and 365 computer workstations from the U.S. government to the Salvadoran Civilian Police (PNC).

The donation, valued at $1,843,433, is part of the U.S.-El Salvador Partnership for Growth (PFG), a joint effort to reduce El Salvador’s main obstacles to economic growth and allow the country to reach its full economic potential. The PFG Action Plan contains 14 goals that address issues of crime and insecurity in the country, including U.S. support to strengthen the crime fighting capabilities of the PNC as well as its investigative tools.
