Ambassador Opens English Teaching Conference in El Salvador
US Ambassador Mari Carmen Aponte was the main speaker at the inauguration of the 12th National Conference for Teachers of English (NCTE), held at Bi-national Center in San Salvador.
Ambassador Aponte highlighted the importance of English as an international language and talked about learning English at home with the help of her mother, who was an English teacher.
The National Conference for Teachers of English is a regional opportunity for English teachers from around the country to share experiences, exchange ideas and strengthen their work in their classroom. With this, the goal of NCTE is to update the English teaching skills, share best practices for teaching language and present practical strategies to promote innovative methodologies for teachers.
The three-day conference is expected to attend for approximately 300 teachers, national and of Central America. Also, over than a forty specialists will participate from England, the United States, Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Costa Rica.
