Information about nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processing at the Embassy is available from bilingual customer service representatives at the regional Call Center between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. workdays, and between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and most holidays.

Immigrant visa, K3/K4 visa, and K1 fiancé visa applicants will be able to obtain information about their own case, such as when their appointment is scheduled and what documents are needed to complete processing their case. They will also be able to make requests to reschedule appointments or change address information.

To enable us to offer this enhanced service there will be a charge for each call.

To call from El Salvador

Visa applicants may obtain immigrant or nonimmigrant visa information from the regional Call Center by dialing 900-6011 from any Telecom line. Callers to the 900 number are charged by the minute; the call is USD$1.87 per minute plus IVA, and will be included in the caller’s phone bill. >The number is not accessible from public phones, cellular phones and some businesses that have 900 numbers blocked. Visa applicants do not need a calling card to use the new 900 number service.

If you do not have a Telecom land line, you may call using a Telefónica "VISAS-USA" card. The cost of the card is USD $15.00. The number to call and other instructions are printed on the reverse of the card. Cards are available from Telefónica offices and at many other locations throughout El Salvador where Telefónica cards are sold.

From the U.S. and other countries

Callers may call 1-866-730-2089 (this is NOT a toll free number) in the United States and charge their call to a major credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

Emergency cases will be referred directly to the Embassy for appropriate action by the customer service representative after the person has contacted our Visa Information Center.
